FORTA PRO AND UNITY TEAM UP TO INTRODUCE NEW CONCEPT FOR MODULAR MICRO APARTMENTS

Updated: Nov 17, 2022

Studio Apartments Designed by Tom Dixon are Deployed Across Scandinavia

LATVIA AND SWEDEN - October 2022 - Forta PRO, a leading modular construction company, and UNITY teamed up to deliver new studio apartments furnished in collaboration with Tom Dixon. A modern twist on traditional rental apartments, the factory-produced studio apartments are fully furnished and designed to be ready-to-move-in studio apartments supported by facilities usually found in hotels offering. The first projects have already been delivered successfully by Forta PRO in 2 locations in Sweden with indoor and outdoor common areas including co-working facilities, café, lounge areas, gym facilities, events, and workshops.

The UNITY concept has been designed to challenge the way we live today by offering intelligent living, state-of-the-art working spaces, and amenities to support daily living — all under one roof. At the heart of this innovation are studio apartments that don’t compromise on quality. The use of Forta PRO’s modular construction technology and manufacturing protocols made the implementation faster, more efficient, and sustainable. The modules steel structure also made it possible to build multi-story buildings that are unique in form and design in narrow urban areas without dust, noise, and road closure. Multi-stage production quality control ensures high level finishes and precise connections, all made to meet the client's standards and modern living requirements.

“We’re extremely excited to team up with UNITY to deliver modular rental apartments for the new concept. Over the years, we’ve come to see the transformative impact of modular construction in a fast-paced world.” stated Aviv Brosilovski, Forta PRO Business Development “The safety and predictability of modular construction helps companies like UNITY roll out their projects without interruptions or delay and on budget. The UNITY Malmo and Kista Campus projects embody unique buildings that become the city decoration, fit into a unique, comfortable living, urban environment.”

Offering housing solutions in 7 locations across Sweden, Finland, and Denmark, the UNITY concept enjoys the creative touch by Tom Dixon, a leading British designer. The British design studio reinterprets industrial design and minimalistic, modern-glamour — made from unusual materials with rock-solid, bespoke manufacturing. The materials are high-quality, and color schemes are carefully selected to create an aesthetic delight for each room.

Moving from concept design, through production to installation on the construction site, soon, these buildings will be habitable. The first of such projects is UNITY Kista Campus (“Jylland”) in Kista, Sweden. It includes 4 buildings with 345 fully furnished rooms all assembled in a record time of just 4 months. The project secured top honours as Forta PRO won the Offsite Award prize in the “International Project of the Year 2021” category.

Olivia Vestergaard, UNITY Head of Marketing and Communication commented, “UNITY is designed as a hub for people to inspire each other and share knowledge. Our community concept was created to cater to their living requirements so members can focus on harnessing their creativity, innovation, and productivity for real impact. We offer cleverly designed 5-rooms-in-1 studio apartments with a view to fitting an entire home into one studio apartment containing living room, bedroom, kitchen, office and bathroom. We look forward to continuing our successful collaboration with Forta PRO.”

Currently Forta PRO and UNITY are completing the installation of modules for the UNITY Malmo project in Malmo, Sweden, consisting of 5 modular buildings and 269 modules. Unique slopped roof-top modules fit nicely with the urban aesthetics, showing how modular construction can support the designers' creativity and elevate the aesthetic appeal of projects.
